Hi! I just bought a 2004 Toyota Corolla S 5 speed manual with 220,258 miles on it from a private seller. It also has a cold air intake. I've only recently learned about cold air intakes and how they might confuse the computer in your car. Now my check engine light is on. Should I buy a scanner and scan the vehicle with the cold air intake in? Or remove the cold air intake and put an OEM air filter assembly in, then scan it?
Thank you!

It doesn't matter. The trouble light has already been triggered. Scan it and find out what it is. If the problem is anything intake related, ditch the CAI. I would ditch it anyway.
Ok thx!
