Hello everyone. Is it possible that I can use 5w30 in my Civic instead of 5w20? Why I ask this is because I've noticed a difference when I use 5w20 as it says on the oil cap it burns the oil within 3-5 days so it was 2 days ago I poured 5w30 in the oil and it doesn't burn within days when I check the dipstick and I thought hmmmm so if it burns 5w20 within 3-5 days what if I used 5w30 the next oil change?

The difference between the two is that 5w20 has a lower viscosity and is thin at operating temperatures and the 5w30 is thicker. What generation model year do your have and how many miles do you have currently?
I own a 2001 and has a lil over 172K miles
For your next oil change, change the oil in the car with 5w30. If you notice a full difference- very little oil burning or no burning at all, then you can live with it.
Alright will do. Yeah I feel it wouldn't burn oil with 5w30 cause I mean once the oil dipstick was low I poured 5w30 in and hasn't burned it at all.

When I'd check the dipstick it was always a lil over the first dot but seems to be ever siince I've used Royal Purple Oil it doesn't burn anymore
