I have a 2013 subaru crosstrek
Im having the same issue but only when using the AC. Mechanic told me the transmission is fine and i should check the catalytic converter. anyone has any experience with this problem.

Many things can cause that kind of problem. How old are your air and fuel filters? Have you checked fuel pressure? Done a full diagnostic scan? The exhaust system can be checked for excessive back pressure with an appropriate gauge.
