I have a 2013 Ford Fusion that was smoking out the exhaust on a cold start.
Found a mechanic who works on fords specifically with good reviews and he said that it’s actually a bigger problem, that there is oil in all the lines and in the turbocharger and it’s not working properly.
He said the turbocharger would have to be replaced along with the pipes and hose and flush all the oil out.
He quoted 1675 for parts/supplies and 1527 for labor.
Is this normal? Should I try to ask for a lower price or go somewhere else?
I have met a mechanic who has been working on ford products specifically. This is the best option that you have in terms of the mechanic knowing what the car is and how to work on it. The reason the price is high is because he is using genuine OEM parts. If you can lower the price to an even 3k, then do it.
