I have a 2001 Toyota Camry 4 cylinder that one morning didn’t start on me. It would crank but wouldn’t turn over. I would step on the gas and the engine would run but when I would let go the car would die. The battery is only a year old by the way. I hit the starter simultaneously as I turned the ignition and it started and ran normally. I thought it was the starter finally going out after 20 years so I bought another one and installed it. I put the key in and it would crank and it still would not turn over on the first try. After several tries it finally turns over and it runs normally. Does anyone know what the issue could be?
