I got a 2003 Ford Focus and when I have the air conditioner on the car acts like it has no power like it takes like 10 seconds for the car to catch up only when I’m taking off from like a stop light I changed the idle air control valve but didn’t help any Thoughts?
sounds like the AC compressor is dragging down your car
My 1999 Ranger does that sometimes when the air conditioner is on and I'm trying to accelerate onto the highway. I can tell when the compressor is kicking on and off cuz I can hear the engine RPM changing ever so slightly. Have you checked your air filter lately? If not, there's a chance that extra load from running the compressor and alternator powering the fans is slightly too much for the quantity of air that's getting through the filter. Cleaning the MAF and throttle may help as well.
Load test the battery and alternator. If they check out, you may have faulty AC compressor.
