Hey Scotty,

Thought you might check out this teardown of the frunk of the Ford Mustang Mach-E to show the thermal system and all the extra complexity in there.

that is nuts. Imagine working on one of those.

"... so here I am, day 3 of my cooling hose replacement ..."

It would make my head spin. Honestly, if I were a professional mechanic, I would rather work on a Porsche 911 over this Mache-E, if I were to do serious repairs.

Also if you are interested in a motor teardown of the VW ID4, here is the link, it seems pretty interesting:

This is why I am not too thrilled with the EV movement.  And imagine me trying to get all that information through alldatadiy.com or the manufacturer - good luck!  I guess it’s a moot point if the system never breaks down or needs servicing - perhaps a Toyota EV (if I ever get one) is the way to go (we’ll see).  In the meantime, best to lease under warranty and let repairs be on their dime.  I always hear the argument “less moving parts and maintenance” - yeah, true, until something within the sophisticated Computer on Wheels malfunctions.

that's right, and when computers fail the solution is usually to replace an entire module, often at great expense. And oh by the way, only the dealer can program it for your vehicle.
Also, as we have seen recently, when we are dependent on chips coming from the other side of the planet, and there's a problem in the supply chain ... there may not be a solution available! What a great way to get caught with your pants down America.
