How long have car lifts been around? It’s that heavy equipment used to look underneath a vehicle.

Good question, per google:
In 1925, Peter Lunati designed, built and patented the first fully hydraulic automotive lift and gave rise to a new industry.
I'll take the ARO14 four post lift.
Oh well, I can dream at least. I'll just have to make do with my 3 ton floor jacks.

That was the one I was literally talking about because we had ones like those when I took auto tech in high school.
That lift in the photo, was it manually operated or something?
This is 1948, not the stone age. They had motors and engines.
