Hey Scotty,
I’m in a pickle, my car (2004 Chevy Impala 3.4L 153k miles) is having some overheating problems. The weird thing is that the temperature gauge will fluctuate a lot. It’ll start out at normal then when I’m idling the temp will rise, when I’m driving the temp will lower, it never stays constant. I have replaced the water pump, thermostat and coolant temperature sensor. The fans are working correctly. After replacing the coolant temperature sensor, it has yet to overheat but the gauge still fluctuates. Any ideas as to what could be the problem?? O yeah, recently it stopped blowing hot air when I turn the heater on. Thanks!
You may have air trapped in the cooling system and/or your radiator may be clogged.
How would I remedy that?
Check the radiator for cold spots (clogs), replace if clogged. Purge any air out of the cooling system.
Are you still using that 18 year old radiator cap?
No lol I changed it after I watch scotty’s video
