Scotty, within the next year I'm planning on purchasing a used vehicle. I have a mustang in mind. How reliable is the v6 mustang years 2015-17? And what's the life span in miles for the engine and transmission ?

If you have the car in mind then have a mechanic in mind. Regardless of the car, do not go by reputation. Go by known facts such as cylinder compression, rubber component quality, and other parts such as transmission and running gear and all of that will change from car to car even in same brand, year and model.
Also, by checking cars agaisnt each other you will see the better units and be better informed to choose a gooder on by yourself. First find the mechanic, then the car. Do not buy a pig with lipstick on.
