Hi Scotty, I'm watching your videos from Switzerland, and I'm really learning a lot. Many thanks for your work and advices! I wanted to know if it's still possible to disconnect the battery cables and to reset them (put them in contact), despite having the little red and black plastic boxes/plates/stuff (the IBS system) at each battery terminal. I am maybe wrong, but I though having the IBS disconnected may shorten the lifespan of the battery afterwards. I am not changing nor charging the battery, just trying a reset (BMW 1st serie 118D, E87, model UD71 2009, 161000 km). Thanks a lot for your attention. With best regards. Elias.
Just some light humor. To clear your warning lights, you need to fix the problem they are trying to report to you. See our FAQ for details.
just trying a reset
why?
Thanks for the reply and questions: Sorry, I mean "Intelligent Battery Sensor", I thought it was enough to describe them as I did ^^. The reset will be a small test before going to the garage : I hope it will "clear" the engine check dashboard lights which is coming on intermittently.
^^It 's totally fine no worries! ok I will try to dig something in the FAQ. 👍
