Hey Scotty, I’m looking to get a brand new car within the next year or two. If i’m the kind of person who loves to drive fast and drive often, you think one of the new civic type r’s will last me forever if i take care of it? if not, what are some long lasting sports cars you can recommend for that?

No, they're decent but they do not last forever.
If i’m the kind of person who loves to drive fast and drive often
Definitely NO.
if not, what are some long lasting sports cars you can recommend for that?
If we are talking about Civic type R kind of money (around $35k), then the Civic is as close as it gets.
If you're willing to spend more, and it has to be a sports car, the $45k 3.5L V6 Lexus IS 350 is the closest to it.
But quite honestly, if you want something that's sporty to drive and lasts forever, the Camry has over 200 horsepower and the powertrain on that thing is close to bulletproof.
good answer
The more you drive like a mad man, the lesser your car is going to last, even with the most reliable engines and transmissions on the market.
With respect to other similar cars from other makes, the Civic and Type R are projected to be more reliable. This is based on history of the Civic overall, history of the Type R, and history of the K series engine the Civic Type R is based on.
Driving fast and often means it will not last forever. That was your question.
I also asked if one of the new civic type r’s will last me forever “if i take care of it” 🙂
The answer is still NO. Nothing lasts forever no matter how well you take care of it. Fact of life.
Test drive the Type-R and the Si.
The Si is supposed to have a much more comfier ride than the Type-R, which makes living with it, easier -
As far as quality it's a good quality and reliable car. It's a mini race car in my opinion; it won't give you the most smooth ride but if that's something you are fine with then yeah it's a good car. Now I don't expect any car to run forever and anything mechanical can and will break, but if you take care of it it will last very long time.
