My mother in law told me that she believes her starter is going on her 2009 Honda CRV LX. She said the vehicle starts sometimes and other times there is a whirring sound and the engine does not start. Sometimes she has to turn her key, let it turn over a couple times and then release, and then turn the key again and the car starts. I checked the battery and its voltage and CCA is fine. The battery is only one year old. The engine wont start even if I jump it. I noticed the high beams and other electronics work fine as well.

Sounds like a bad starter.
Just replaced the starter, works great now!
