Please let me know whether it is a good idea to buy an extended warranty for the new Mazda cx-5 ? Doses it worth, it because the new cars have a lot of electronic parts and would it be costly to repair them with a mechanic?

No. They will always try to weasel their way out of paying. It would better to setup an account putting money in their incase something happens. The bonus is you can draw a little interest off it.
Never fall for the old "extended warranty" scam. First, you would need a lawyer to read and explain it to you and second, dealerships always have a way to tell you that even if your driveshaft falls off the car, "that's normal." It's just extra gravy in the dealer's pocket. Keep it in yours instead.
