- I have a 2016, 2nd gen Chevy Cruze 1.4L with an Automatic transmission. I just purchased the vehicle with 250,000 miles on it and when it was driving for a day it would jerk back and forth when coming to a stop and struggled to accelerate from a stop. I had a P0722 code so I replaced the output speed sensor and changed the transmission fluid. Now the vehicle doesn’t move it any gear and has an Engine code “P0700” and a Transmission code “P2723”. I’m unsure when the next step should be.
Didn't any of these problems show up when you had a mechanic inspect the car before you bought it?

Note that there are other potential issues that can trigger P0722 aside from a bad speed sensor or dirty fluid, and if the transmission had not been regularly serviced changing the fluid at 250K miles could well have finished it off.
It is likely the transmission is just worn out with engine problems soon to follow. You would need a transmission expert to diagnose it with a professional-grade scan tool to confirm that. Those are not cars that do well at high mileage.

Hopefully you saved the fluid and can put some of it back in. Only what's in the pan comes back out of the transmission, so replacing it with grit may help. Did it look gritty or burned? If so, that transmission is done. I would have just changed the filter, if it has one, and kept the fluid, had it never been serviced.
