I have a 2015 Chevy Malibu. When accelerating from a stop, the car won't rev (NO lights at all) and then after a period of time begins to rev and jump into gear. It hesitates and jumps into gear when attempting to move from a stop.
The worst part of this is the car not moving and fear it won't start revving again.
The mechanic I went to is clueless since there is no engine light.

You need a better mechanic. Any mechanic that is worth anything knows that not all codes trip the check engine light and they'd be all over that car with a bidirectional scan tool, testing modules, looking for engine and transmission diagnostic codes, and checking live data. Also, it is not clear from your description whether the transmission is slipping and slamming into gear or whether it's purely a problem of the engine not developing power.
Could be a malfunction with the APP sensor, TPS, or throttle actuator. Would need to run diagnostics to investigate further.
Please answer all the questions in the first paragraph to get any meaningful help.
