Hello there, i have a 09 kia spectra ex and for the last several days the weather has been extremely cold, meaning temps under 0 degrees, my car wont start, the battery works because the ac and everything turn on, but the engine wont start. Its warmed up to 25 today, any ideas what the cause might be snd what i can do. Thanks everyone

It could still be the battery. It may have enough juice to operate the accessories but not enough to turn the motor over.

If you have a voltmeter, I would check it and see what it reads.

Check the charging system, your CCA might be weak.....

Well, … if your car was recently serviced, all checked and adjusted as needed, I bet you it would most likely start! But, … if your last service was, … say last July, … and your car run after that splendidly, … by now, I’m not surprised that it is not starting. Could be battery - batteries loose cranking power as they get cold, could be now old - more viscous oil, … it could be your coolant gelling. Your battery and starter terminals could be corroded and perhaps even loose!

Anyway, … you can - now, perhaps boost it from another battery. Or just wait to til it warms up.
