Scotty, I have a 1998 Crown Victoria. I just had to replace the alternator, and while I was in there I went ahead and changed the serpentine belt and spark plugs (I inherited the car from my grandfather and he hadnt had them changed in the 100k miles he put on it). I changed all those items, and now my car wont turn over. I removed the belt and it cranked right up and ran. I looked the belt part number up and it is the correct belt. Do I need to change the tension on the belt, or could it be something else? Im a novice at fixing cars, but am up for most things that can be done with regular hand tools. Thanks for answering my question and please dont stop giving advice.
Sounds like your tension may be off... it's hard to tell. Maybe this'll help ya
