Carbon deposit cleaning

Topic starter

I have a 2013 F350. I understand that some exhaust gas is recirculated to reduce emissions and that means carbon is deposited in the engine. Is there an additive that can be used to reduce the carbon deposits? If there is something what brand and how often should it be added?

Let it warm up well before loading, this will reduce carbon buildup/production as the egr should close after warm up.  Clean egr also as these tend to dirty up more on the Fords.  Increased octane helps but debatable how much.
