I have a 1975 mg midget. It runs great but for a few issues on cold and warm starts it has a rough idle until it gets going. It stalls out some times or just idles low other times. Once you start driving it idles decently well. It also has very bad torque until 2000rpm which I find somewhat strange. If you have any ideas feel free to share.

The carburetors on those things are absolute crap I would probably just throw it away and put on a Weber carburetor conversion kit
Is it possible that it's the evap system? I heard you talk about how that system could make a car hard to start and stall out on startup.

The choke housings warp on those carbs. Remove the choke housing and sand or file it flat.
