I have a 1980 chevy c10 with an inline 6 that i was told was a California emission engine. I know nothing about those. Was told Its not an ordinary carb And that it had to be same one before it would fit. I was wondering if you knew if there was an adapter to make it take a normal quadrajet or preferably an edelbrock carb. I cant seem to find a carb like what it has on it and would perfer to put one that i know something about on it but i dont know if an adapter exist
Again im not familiar with these style of carburetors or older vehicles in general. But i did some more research i believe i have a varajet 2 carb. Is there anyway to put a diffrent kind on it or am i stuck trying to fix/buy varajet
You might look into converting to a Weber carb. I'm not that familiar with the Chevy inline six but Weber carbs are a popular conversion to replace trouble-prone emissions carbs on 1980s-vintage AMC and Jeep six-cylinder vehicles. Chances are there's a model to fit your engine or at least adapters available. (You would need to live in an area with no emission inspection required.)
Try Redline Automotive, they are a Weber dealer and have updated carbs for just about anything.
