I have a basic understanding of the difference between carburetor and fuel injection engines.
But I have no tacit hands on knowledge of carburetors. I have NEVER owned carbureted engine. Heck, I don't even think I have driven a carbureted engine.
I am curious, for those that have experience with carburetors, what are the practical differences in terms of driving, maintenance, and repair of carbureted engines vs. fuel injected engines?
What were some of the common pitfalls of carbureted engines, which gave way to fuel injection? And what are the pitfalls of a fuel injection engine, where carbureted engines run circles around?
(I do remember as a kid, seeing "fuel injection" used as marketing for some cars. Some makes even placed "fuel injection" right next to the model logo on the car, to show off that the car had "fuel injection".)
