Hi Scotty: If i connect a (memory keeper/saver) and disconnected the battery, will that wake up any car modules or will the car stay asleep.
the memory saver is just a battery. It is the same as having a battery plugged in.
Some modules never completely power off and they always draw a minuscule amount of power. The only way to full power down the electronics is to remove all power (which of course resets everything).
If i was looking for a parasitic draw, I wouldn't want to wake up any modules. Some times my low voltage amp clamp is too small to clamp around the battery cable so i though i could add a smaller cable to the battery by using the battery saver and disconnect the big cable.
That would work, except clamp meters are not accurate at measuring current below 1A. It's better to put a multimeter in series.
After the ignition is shut off, all the modules should go into standby after 20 minutes. If you interrupt power, they will wake up.
