I have a 2000 Mazda protégé. With 271,000 I  used 2 gallons of Paint thinner  to clean my catalytic converter  out Will that hurt my engine just asking your opinion  But it did turn off the po 420 code that’s what I wanted

I really wouldn't do that.

Next time try using a product designed for that purpose, like CataClean.

I did use cata cleaner but it did not work so I checked with my borescope at first 02 sensor down it was all filled up with carbon so I put the O2 sensor back in and filled it with 2 gallons A paint thinner and drove it 120 miles and the engine light turned off so I checked it again after and it was cleaned out just saying scotty was correct

You may damage the rubber hoses, gas tank,....

Listen to @Mod_Man

It did turn off my PO 420 code because I took a borescope camera in my Catalytic converter and it was clogged up it was filled with Black carbon I put 2 gallons of paint thinner I looked afterwards and the catalytic converter was cleaned out running better scotty was correct
