hey scotty i have a 2008 honda accord exl v6 3.5L sedan with an automatic transmission with 182001 miles.i have a p0430 code the car runs fine but i’ve been told the cats in bank 2 will need to be replaced i want to replace them down the road when they do get clogged but dealer wants 1400$ for one cat can i trust aftermarket i’ve been told i should just stick to dealer any thoughts ? the code goes away but should i check if it’s a bad oxygen sensor or wait till cats go bad and i can’t accelerate over 40
O2 sensors are a lot cheaper than catalytic converters. It is probably worth changing out the O2 sensors. Be sure to use only OEM sensors. You could also search for Scotty's videos on cleaning catalytic converters as a last resort, but I'd try the sensors first since they may be reporting incorrect data to the computer.
