Who offers the cheapest nationwide auto insurance rates for both personal and commercial? And i know for a fact its not progressive!
Well it actually price is very all over the place from state to state.do like I do in price around because of course some areas such as rural areas and less people less accidents and then lower premiums while big cities have more crime and accidents and you pay more regardless of what company you are using
Here's my 2 cents - a bad credit rating will raise your car insurance more than a single DUI arrest - in most states.
A lot of those companies draw you in with an initially low rate then raise it at each renewal. To keep rates as low as possible you need to shop around periodically for the best deal and change companies.
Go to an agency that writes for multiple companies, maybe 8-12 different companies. They will send your info out and let you know which one is lowest. I did this a few years ago and saved a ton on my auto and home insurance. I ended up with Safeco.
Scotty is right, when I lived in Seattle I was paying $525 every six months for 100K/300K PI and 1OOK PD with uninsured coverage of the same amounts. When I moved to Grants Pass, OR (Population 35K) it drooped to $240 for the same coverage on the same car.
Rates based on the amount of coverage, you location, driving record and even your credit score. I purchased my insurance online and visited my websites to get the lowest rates.
Ask for as many discounts as you can get. Such as good driver, ABS brakes, Military service etc. I always pay the full amount, it saves me $100 over the “easy payment” plan.
Also get a quote every time you renew your policy, even with the same insurance company. That way you are insured (pun) of getting the lowest rate.
I have not made a insurance claim since the year 1993, the year my 1987 Chevrolet Nova was totaled by my girlfriend.
I switched from State Farm to Geico...1/2 the price and double the coverage.
Geico website lets you build your policy online and gives instant quote. You can tweak all the parameters (within your states requirements) to your liking and budget. No middleman (agent) trying to upsell to increase their commission.
I have found Progressive to be reasonable and were easy to work with when we had a cracked windshield on my wife's car. The cameras on the new windshield had to be recalibrated and they paid for it without squawking.
