Hi Scotty,

I'm still driving my 2004 Mazda 3 2.0 i4 (was my college car, very good gas milage) as my second car for local errands in CA, it still passes state inspections and runs well with its 241,000 miles on it. Just recently, the automatic transmission started slipping in the gears 3 and 4 (gear 4 is its highest gear, also has an overdrive to reduce rpm on freeways). Is it worth fixing this car's transmission? Is there a low cost fix? ATF liquid color level is ok; color dark red. There are no ODB-II codes; must be mechanical... With only driving it in gears 1 and 2 it isn't of much use, even on local roads...

Thanks.
Bastian

Not worth fixing it cost too much in those Mazdas but take one quart of transmission fluid out and put one quart of Lucas transmission slip additive and pray
