I have a 2022 Honda Civic sedan sport automatic cvt. For checking the transmission fluid the owners manual states "take to a dealership to check/change transmission fluid." There is no dipstick for checking the transmission fluid and apparently it has one of those so-called lifelong transmission fluids which I know there is no such thing as lifelong transmission fluid. So I was wondering if anyone here knows how I can check the transmission fluid myself?
is the model number stamped somewhere on the bottom?
The VIN number you mean? I haven't looked for it at the bottom of the car but I know the number.
transmission model
Using my corolla as an example.
I read somewhere it is seal with nitrogen and no dipstick or whatever. Just change the TF at 50k to 80k miles. After I changed mine, I felt little difference. Just the gears a little quieter.
The volume of the fluid is sensitive so DIY is not recommended.
The opening hatch is behind the front wheel
No place to check it.
The owners manual does have the exact type of fluid and amount it needs so that shouldn't be a concern changing it myself. Is yours behind the left or right front wheel?
Going under the car you will see your drip pan containing the TF. That will give a clue as the opening is behind the left or right.
