I heard Scotty said the the Express cargo van was a good van just don't get one with the 4.8 motor in it. He said it was a noisy motored anyone know what he meant by that, being a noisy motor? I prefer the 5.3 or 6.0 and you have the 4.3 6 cylinder. Just anyones thoughts on this matter. ThanksRicko
The 4.8 is too small for a such a big vehicle. I haven't seen a V6 on an Express lately. 5.3L is the ideal size (which is why they are the most common). If you're doing really heavy duty hauling then go up to the 6.0
Thanks Joe
Glad to be of service. When you feel that your question is answered, don't forget to hit the checkmark.
I was mistaken. There was a V6 option from '96 to '02. What a terrible idea. No wonder it was phased out.
@mountainmanjoe
A brand new Express van comes with the option of a 4.3 V6
4.8 seems too small. V8 is what it should be, not a 4 cylinder like they are putting in the newer ones.
the 4-cyl is a diesel and it's no slouch
It makes 181hp and 369 lb-ft of torque!
@mountainmanjoe
Is it reliable? Have you rented it for one week so we can evidently conclude it is very reliable for one week of use😂?
I haven't the faintest idea how reliable it is, but it's definitely not "too small".
{black}:surprised:
@mountainmanjoe
I meant for reliability the number of cylinders was small for a huge van...
Like how chevy put the 4 cylinder in the Silverado? I guess this is a diesel idk at this point
diesel is a completely different animal
