SCOTTY!
I have a 2021 Chevy Colorado Zr2 3.6L v6 with 25k miles, 8 speed automatic. When i drive the truck early in the morning and the transmission fluid is cold, I often feel a hard shift from park to 1st, and from 1st to 2nd. It also has hard downshifts from 2nd to 1st when cold. When the trans warms up it shifts fine. The trans fluid also only warms up to about 100 Fahrenheit. (Isn’t that a little low??) Is their something i can do to prevent this besides buy a Tacoma 🤣. Should have watched your videos before i bought the stupid truck.
Thanks!
Michael
Unfortunately, Chevy Colorados seem to have been designed with serious problems with engineering and manufacturing, not to mention electronics. Hopefully, you are still under warranty but good luck with that.
It's under warranty, so that's GM's responsibility. Complain to the dealer.
Inevitably, they will say it's "normal." At that point, ask to test drive a brand new vehicle from the lot, and see if it's still "normal". It they all do it then... well it goes to show. Make sure there aren't any software updates available for the transmission that might alleviate the issue.
Also, realise that ALL automatic transmissions will shift a little differently when cold.
