2012 Chevy Cruze Trade-in for a Camry

Hey Scotty,

I have a 2012 chevy cruze 1.4L eco with 95k miles. Still runs fine. Would it even be worth it to maybe trade it in towards a used Camry? I was thinking maybe the same year or slightly newer. Or should I just hang onto it because the trade-in value will be practically nothing? Thanks.

In your case, you’d get practically nothing if you traded it in, at the moment. So you might as well continue to drive it till the wheels fall off.

However, if you do get a good price for it, trade it in for the Camry, after an honest mechanic checks out the Camry.

i used to own a 2015 chevy cruze ad a 2018 cruze turbo. first one had unknown electrical problems and was taken to dealer a few times but no issues found. then traded-in for the 2018 cruze turbo, it had some issue of no acceleration on idle, car again taken to dealer, nothing was found. i talked to a mechanic and he also said some cruze where stopping in the middle of the road. from my experience those look like they have unknown electrical problems. if your cruze still runs you might be okay for a couple of more miles until you have to replace a major part.now, you can always go to carmax and they will give you good price since the car still has under 100,000 miles. i would reccomend you trade it for a toyota or a honda.
