Scotty,
I love your channel! I've been a Toyota fan for a long time. However, I've always thought the Chevy Volt was a clever idea, being that it's an all electric car that has a gas electricity generator. Sure you can plug it in for battery only for a small amount of miles. But when the battery fails, not if, a person can still use it without replacing the battery. Chevy stopped making them a few years ago, but consumer reports rates the 2013 model with the same reliability as many Toyotas. What's your thoughts?
Well it’s a vehicle that’s not made anymore so I think that’s the answer to it’s popularity/ reliability. I mean these newer Chevy EV vehicles are catching fire.
Consumer Reports makes decent tissue paper. That's it, like most other car review mags.
The Volt had many issues during its run, as can be found with a simple Google search. As for them being as reliable as a Toyota, no. Not even close.
The reason they stopped making them was because nobody could make a fire extinguisher efficient enough to put out the inevitable battery fires.
