Hi Scotty,

My son's Challenger has a Whirring sound emanating from the front DS wheel area. It does increase with speed and is prominent around 40 mph. I jacked up and spun wheel Noticing a deadened click with each rotation, shook wheel at 12/6 and 3/9 with no movement. Removed wheel and all I found was the inner CV had movement in what appeared to be between shaft and the transaxle, not in the CV. All boots are intact and vehicle has 39k miles. Is this play normal? I also would not expect bearing to go bad at this mileage. I am leaning toward replacing bearing. I also have video of shaft play. Img_2016

Thanks!

I would replace the bearing. It's a Dodge....you would be surprised what I have seen fail at 40k miles.

Thanks!! Probably from the salt in Syracuse. Bearing it is. Looks like I have a weekend job ahead of me. Fortunately the rust has not kicked in yet.
