I tried hard reset on it and it did shift out until I stopped then it went back to stuck in first of second gear what do u think is the problem. On tht year there is no dip stick for tranny to check fluid level? It's calling a 0p700 code aswell

Unfortunately Annette endless money pit odds are the transmission is going out which is going to cost more than the car is actually work to repair in most cases

P0700 (almost always) means that (another) code has been set in the TCM (transmission control module).

It's a generic code telling the PCM to alert you (by the P0700 code) that "there's a transmission problem you need to check out, ask the TCM for specifics."

It's time to hook it up to a scanner that can read codes in the TCM.

If none are present you can check the wiring and connectors to the TCM.

A TCM costs hundreds of dollars so it's not exactly a "what if" part to replace without being sure it's fried.

You can buy a transmission dipstick for it (Mopar part # 9336) it comes with a temp chart,  but here again, you need to have a scanner that can read the transmission temp to read the dipstick accurately to see if the problem is just low fluid.

But in the end you may have to take it to a transmission shop to diagnose the problem.

The Boss isn't exaggerating saying that vehicle is an endless money pit and the transmission is probably going out.

(especially at 16 years old). But it's what your daughter in law has.

If she can get it out of limp mode for under a few hundred bucks, she should do it.

Then immediatly sell it
