LED headlight replacement on 2007 Accord - DRLs not working

I have a 2007 Honda Accord 2.4L V4. Recently for the love of LEDs I swapped my halogen bulb headlight for LEDs (12V 12W 9005 and 9006).

They both work great no dash board lights or errors but my DRLs that run on half power from my high beam lights (9005) have stopped working. I tried using 50W 6 Ohms resistors that some blogs suggested. I found a couple on Amazon (plug and play not splicing into the wires) but that didn't work. When asked around in an auto store they said I would need to splice in the resistor for it to work and not use the plug and plays. Would that fix the DRLs?

Is there a way to make them work? Forgive me if my question has an obvious answer this is my first time trying to understand anything electrical.

Thanks everyone.

Daylight running lights work on the lower voltage than normal headlights so the LEDs will never work
