Civic 2020 Sport trim, is the CVT reliable?

I know Toyota and Honda make the best CVTs, but I'd like to know what precautions should I have with my 2020 Civic Sport CVT. It's not a Toyota CVT so there should be something less reliable about these Honda CVTs. Thanks

Those CVTs have been very reliable. I would drain and fill the fluid every 30K-40K miles or so, or whatever specification the owner's manual says. Do not believe the "lifetime fluid" if anyone tells you that.

Take care of it and it could last.

That depends. If you like to drive aggressively, your best bet is just to stick with manual. CVTs are okay if you're going to leave it bone stock or do simple bolt-on modifications. If youre planning on flashing it, just be wary that the CVT belt is very limited on horsepower. Maximum WHP I've seen on the CVT civic is around 300whp. Check in the civic forums for more info on this.
