Hello

Sometimes when i watch classic american muscle car videos on YT, when cold, idle has a unique sound, you get the feeling that the engine is gonna stall, I think they call it '' chug ''.

why is that?

Not enough choke on the carburetor will do that. Cars with race/high lift cams sound like that when ever they idle, hot or cold.

What does choke mean?

That pretty much covers it

Alright
Thank you both

Simple.

Fuel must be in vapor form to combust.

Fuel has trouble evaporating when it's cold, so you have to feed the engine more.

Yeah old school motors with old school issues. I love it. Lol.

Choke issues would be the correct answer as others have stated. EFI is the way to go.
