Hi Scotty and other Auto Experts, 

My friend has a CLS 550 2008 which he had purchased from used showroom in 2010 and it has 2,10,000 kms on it at the moment. Last week while waiting in a signal, his car caught on fire from the bottom. After it was extinguished and taken to his mechanic, he advised the CAT was blocked and caused it to overheat and this the fire. He had advised that the CAT was cleaned and no problems would be there hereafter. 

However, my friend is worried since the whole event was traumatic and now he is in between wanting to sell the car or keep it. What do you reckon. Yes, there are a whole bunch of other issues like some tech not working and bunch of codes, but the engine, transmission and AC are running quite ok at this point.
