Hello Scotty
I have a 2009 Chevy Tahoe with 203,500 miles, it has the 5.3 Vortec V8. When I start it up first thing in the morning or if it’s sits for a day, it blows white smoke out the tailpipe and the engine misfires for 5 seconds. When it gets to operating temperature it runs normal. No check engine light, it’s not overheating, and I don’t believe I am losing coolant. Could this be a bad intake manifold gasket or is this normal.
let me know
thanks
James

These are the classic symptoms of a blown head gasket. In your case, when the engine begins to heat up and expand, the leak seals up but eventually, and very soon, it will go out completely. Keep a close eye on your temperature gauge and coolant level.
