Have a 2014 Nissan Rouge Select with 116983 miles which failed smog due to computer not communicating… all other systems are ok, tried your resetting of cars computer to no avail. The car had been in an accident with damage to driver side fender area. Would changing computer be beneficial? Won’t trouble you any further any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Make sure that both signal and power grounds on the OBD2 diag connector are good (pins 4&5), and +12V power (pin 16). If that's not the problem check the signal wiring.

"Rogue".

Rouge is what your wife puts on her face to get rosy cheeks.

Check your fuses.

If all fuses are in working order and there’s no voltage, you need a car electrician.

These cars can blow the datalink adapter computer (if equipped), or just not have any CAN comm (while still running and not showing major symptoms)

See if your state has an option to be inspected without OBD2…

If you're lucky it is just a blown fuse. Layout of the fuse panel should be in your owner's manual and may be printed in the panel itself.

I keep hearing about these Nissan Rouges here... but I still haven't seen one. Where are they?? 😆

Is your scan tool able to communicate with the computer?

Check wiring to the OBD2 socket, particularly power, chassis ground, and signal ground.
