Hello, about 7 years I supposedly had my radiator coolant drained and filled. I just change it myself the other day and it appears the shop never changed the coolant as I noticed it looked very rusty. Question: won't this rust destroy my water pump, radiator etc...? The vehicle has approximately 50,000 on it.

Yes if it is ignored over time.
Also for future reference, please include a few more details when talking about your car.
Thanks, now the decision whether I should get rid of the vehicle before it nickels and dimes me.
What is this car? Is a ford? GM? Chrysler?

It's not great for it. You'll want to flush the system out really well.
