Hi Scotty, I am elated to be able to speak to you. I go to your YouTube channel and get help with repairs and you have never failed me. Ok I have a 2002 Xterra with over 266k miles on it. I just recently took it to get an oil change about a month ago and things ran smoothly as usual. Suddenly without any warning, my oil light flickers and remains when I apply the brakes or make a turn. I also noticed for the first time loud clanking sound like it was out of oil which it shouldn’t be. So I made it to my driveway, and cut of the truck. At first there was nothing under my truck so I went inside for an hour. I go back out to check the oil level and to my horror it is completely dry. So I added more oil I had into the tank and I started hearing something like water pouring from below. Now I check underneath the truck again, and to my horror oil and coolant had run out of the vehicle. I took off the radiator cap to find it is still full. My question is what do you think has happened to my truck? Also my check engine light has been on since march this year when I bought it. Diagnostics code remains at P0174. Inspection and repair shops have tried to fix this problem. Do you think my leak is a result from the code?
Well oil and coolant is a horrible mix generally that means the head gasket is blown. But I knows most do have a water cooled oil filter and the gasket could go there and you would leak both oil and water so check that first under the oil filter there's a ring that is coolant to cool it and also oil goes through it and that ring off and goes bad inside
