Hi scotty happy new year. I have a 2018 ford focus sel that slowly looses coolant, i would fill it up in the begining of the year to full and by the end of the year its below minimum is that normal? I do put a lot of miles on it about 11 000 miles each year. I know for sure its not a blown head gasket since no white smoke comes out and i dont smell any coolant, what do you think?
It is not normal. You may have a very small leak in your cooling system. Test your head gasket situation, follow this video:
If it takes a whole year, then it's not a huge deal. The system is not perfectly gas tight. A new radiator cap might help.
Seems normal, but by how much below the MIN line is it falling? Or how much coolant overall are you losing (quarter inch, half inch, etc). Coolant does evaporate over time, about a quarter inch every year because there is water mixed in.
