[Solved] Coolant top off- different color/brand

I have some “super blue” Subaru coolant for a 2017 Outback. Can I use it to top off the coolant in my wife’s 2015 Highlander before a long trip? I saw they are both OET, just wanted to make sure. Thanks to all the experts that are helping good everyday people on this forum.

You shouldn't mix different colors of coolant just in case. You may end up with sludge. As for brand it usually doesn't matter if the color is the same  best to stick with whatever you originally have for both cars.

DO NOT MIX . There is a good chance you will have a chemical reaction. Most common is turning into gel as said. It can also become acidic and damage the rubber and corrode the inside of engine and heater core. If it gels you will have to take everything apart clean it and flush the entire system. It is very time consuming process that takes hours to do.
