So on my 2012 honda civic, my cooling fans are not turning up until I turn my a/c on? I've changed the relay switch for it but it still won't turn on. I have to drive with a/c on in order for them to turn on. What can cause this to happen or what can it be?
@ggarcia0812
Try replacing the fan control module. On my Mazda, my fan would turn on when the A/C was on, but it wouldn't turn on when coolant temps got up. I replaced the fan control module (it was attached to the fan, so I had to replace the whole fan unit) and it's running how it should. Also, the cooling fans don't turn on right away if that's what you're worried about. They only turn on when coolant temps get out of the normal operating range, such as when you are in traffic or parked.
dude! i just noticed this now on my 2012 civic lx as well. have you resolved this? please let me know what you did. thanks {black}:smile:
Did you check the coolant temperature sensor?
Check switch on radiator see if it's making good contact.check sender may be bad, It may be also in line, bad relay, few options.
@jackofall
What is a sender?
@jackofall
I think he means Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor
