Hey Scotty should i buy the 02 Camaro? It's the 3.8L V6 engine with an automatic trans and183,000 miles on it.I can get a good deal price from a private party but would it be worthwhile to buy?
Would I buy that? I would not, but it depends on what you are looking for. Are you looking for a toy, or a daily driver? This car might be perfect if you are looking for something you like to work on frequently. Say you don’t really like your spouse and want to spend a lot of time in the garage. This will be the vehicle for you.
All joking aside, the 3800 motor is very dependable, but 180,000 is pretty much the life time of those transmissions. It’s an 18 year old car and there will be leaks, and issues with the electronics. If you have the budget to repair this car and really like the car, go ahead. It’s your money, just be aware that this car will not appreciate in value. The miles are too high and it’s a V6.
