Hey Scotty, love your videos and even went so far as to buy a corolla. I have a 2015 corolla. It was having low gas mileage issues so I replaced all tyres with good pirellis. It's still having low mileage. I'm only getting about 260 miles out of a tank until it's completely empty. Are there any common issues that could be causing this? Cheers, Cam
I would check your air filter. If it's clogged up, your mileage will suffer. Cheap and easy fix that MAY be your problem. If you're driving around in a dusty environment, your filter will need to be checked and replaced more regularly.
I'm no mechanic but I have owned a corolla and that was something I learned.
The low gas mileage could also because by bad spark plugs and/or coils so check those and if it's none of those I would suggest taking it into a trusted mechanic to have it checked out.
Change the spark plugs, replace the engine air filter, clean your MAF sensor.
If these did not help, check out the long term and short term fuel trims using scan tools or take it to a mechanic.
Thanks all. Replaced the air filter and spark plugs., put synthetic oil in it. Getting very slightly better gas mileage, but still poor. Thinking of getting rid of the car as there are some other things I don't like about it.
