Hello,
Anyone come across an exhaust manifold gasket leak causing a cylinder misfire?
Thanks
Yes. The main computer uses sensor information from the exhaust stream to adjust the fuel mixture. If outside air is getting in and skewing the O2 sensors, it messes everything up.
If you would like help solving an issue with your car, you'll need to provide the specifics please.
@imperator Good point, I didn't consider that. (I work too much on vehicles so old they don't have any of that fancy stuff!)
@imperator Yes. The first code I got was a P0137 which I assumed was related to O2 sensor. I swapped it with one I had around, and then a P0305 popped up. No P0137 this time. I think I will replace the gasket, and hope for the best. I pulled the heads and lapped the valves a few months ago. Had a hell of a time getting that gasket on. Probably screwed it up.
Thank you for getting back to me.
