- I have a 1996 Rav4, recently it had a cranks but no start problem and died on the freeway. The rotor in the distributor was loose and destroyed the cap and rotor. Fixed the rotor and replaced the cap. Starts fine now, but now it only starts when the engine is cold, it will not start when it's warmed up. Popping the clutch will get it started, and it runs fine when it is started. Was going to replace the starter or coolant temp sensor as they are the original Toyota ones. The starter sounds the same when hot or cold. Battery and alternator are working properly.
Mileage on the car?

Don't forget to check the FAQ.
It has about 237,000 miles. It's a very specific circumstance and can't find any info on why it's doing it.
open the faq and click on won't start. Follow what Scotty says in his videos.

None of those videos help me. But thank you.
how much was your fuel pressure?
That is irrelevant isn't it? I stated that it cranks but doesn't start, but I can start it by popping the clutch. Runs fine when I can get it started.
ok do it your way
