Scotty, on my 1997 Nissan Pathfinder, I will be purchasing new tires soon.
I need a new rack and pinion and will also be installing new coil springs, front and back of vehicle as the old ones are still the original ones on vehicle.
Is it okay to have the new tires installed now or wait until after those repairs? Will not doing those repairs right now cause the new tires damage?
Thanks
I would wait to have the tires installed AFTER the work is done.
let me ask you this, why just the coils or are you planning to install the entire quick
strut, which is a strut with coil (one piece)?
Don’t forget a 4 wheel alignment as well.
If there are any other weak suspension parts observed or recommended to be
changed, I would do that as well. You don’t want to jeopardize the tires wearing
prematurely if there are other parts within the suspension that are bad or are going
bad.
Good luck,
Yeah was thinking the same.
And just coils because I changed all my suspension components last year. Just the springs are left for suspension in the front and rear. And the rack and pinion has to changed.
I replaced everything myself, but didnt get a chance to order the springs and install at the time I was replacing as I got busy and the the coils were out of stock at the time from the place I was buying from.
I didnt use quick struts either, I had put back in a new set of kybs that you have to assemble.
Gotcha.....
